OLYMPIC HERO GREG RUTHERFORD REVEALS HE WAS BANNED FROM CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS AS A CHILD


Olympic champ Greg Rutherford says he needs to make Christmas as mystical as feasible for his children - after merry festivals were prohibited when he was growing up.
The London 2012 legend was raised by strict Jehovah's Witness guardians, who didn't observe Christmas, Easter or even birthday events.

There was no dish turkey, no twinkling enhancements and surely no presents. Notwithstanding discussing Christmas was forbidden.

Greg, 32, stated: "I was raised with no Christmas by any means - it was only a common day.

"All my school companions would discuss getting presents and having a fabulous time with their families, and I needed that as well.

"The main thing I anticipated was that there would be bunches of movies on TV over Christmas."One year I got a container and put it to the divider to tune in to the neighbors opening every one of their presents.

"I sat there and being very glad at their responses. I'd feel cheerful for them getting what they needed."

He stated: "The extraordinary thing about being resigned is I can eat and drink as much as like and don't need to stress over preparing.
