IAN WRIGHT DEFENDS CHELSEA BOSS FRANK LAMPARD FOR TEAM SELECTION
Ex-Arsenal striker Ian Wright has applauded Chelsea chief Frank Lampard for his choice to play Tammy Abraham in advance during his side's 3-2 triumph over Norwich.
A few eyebrows were raised when the beginning lineup for the match was reported, with a significant number of the conclusion that Olivier Giroud would have been a superior alternative to lead the line.
Be that as it may, Abraham reimbursed his administrator's confidence in him by scoring twice to help his group towards the success, and Wright accepts there is a whole other world to originate from the 21-year-old.
Talking on Match of the Day Wright stated: "He is someone who has been near yet it's been far to get to the Chelsea first group. That number nine shirt is overwhelming and we've seen that with a portion of the strikers in years passed by yet the confidence his chief has appeared in him, he reimbursed that today. "Many individuals were discussing the hold up play and that Giroud ought to play since he's not getting the play with him but rather he did that splendidly today. His first objective was splendid, formed, held it down, it was impeccable.
"He can come towards the play and he can go long, that is something Giroud doesn't give them. A portion of the stuff Tammy does, Giroud can't do. For whatever length of time that his certainty keeps awake, he'll score goals."The two strikes were Abraham's first objectives in the Premier League, having spent the last three seasons in the Championship during credit spells at Bristol City, Swansea and Aston Villa. He has now scored a larger number of objectives than some other English player since the beginning of last season, with his count remaining at 28.
Abraham will would like to keep his place in the main group as Chelsea mean to expand on their first win of the period when they have Sheffield United next Saturday.
